Language
1 Nephi 11:2
Yea, I make a record in the language of my father, which consists of the learning of the Jews and the language of the Egyptians.
Language is more than vocabulary, grammar, and written symbols. It is a means of thinking about and expressing ideas. My language is formed not just by the words I can define, but by how I string them together to make thoughts.
Lehi's language was the tongue of prophecy and revelation. He spoke and wrote scripture, the mind and will of the Lord. His thoughts were of Hebrew origin with some Egyptian influence in his forms of expression. This is the language in which Nephi was brought up. What Nephi knew from the beginning was all he learned from his father.
